About Kamuzu University of Health Sciences

The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) started its operations as University On 4th May 2021 following a direction  from the Ministry of Education. The  new university emerged from the amalgamation of two (former) constituent colleges of the University of Malawi (UNIMA), i.e.

  • Kamuzu College of Nursing (KCN)
  • College of Medicine (CoM)

Campuses for Kuhes which are College of medicine(CoM) and Kamuzu College of Nursing(KCN)  are located in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

  • The College of Medicine is located in Blantyre along the Mahatma Gandhi Road which is close to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, which serves as the main teaching hospital.
  •  The Kamuzu College of Nursing has two campuses. The main campus is in Lilongwe, next to Lilongwe Central Hospital. The other campus is in Blantyre within the premises of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital. A new Blantyre campus has since been built at Kameza, a few metres from Chileka round-about towards Lilongwe.

College of medicine has two campuses Blantyre campus  is the main campus and Lilongwe campus
